For individual representatives in need of personalized attention, I've curated a comprehensive customized curriculum that promotes accountability and empowers them to achieve and surpass their quotas.

My Humble Sales Origins

My journey in sales began during my sophomore year in college. Faced with finals week and no summer job prospects, I stumbled upon a sign on a telephone pole that read, "Travel out west, make $3,000." Intrigued, I attended the meeting that night and was captivated by the persuasive pitch delivered by the sales leader. A week later, with my mother's signature on a letter of credit, I found myself on a journey to Nashville, TN for training with Southwestern Advantage, where I would sell educational and children's books door-to-door.

Though my mother had reservations about my success, I embarked on this new endeavor. After rigorous training, I joined a car caravan to Chicago, embarking on my sales journey. Admittedly, my first week was a challenge, and I only earned $16. However, with guidance from a high-performing sales manager, I quickly improved. Despite the demanding nature of the job, I was committed to success, working 80-hour weeks and conducting 25-30 book demonstrations daily. Without a car, I biked across seven suburban towns on Chicago's southwest side. My goal? To earn a trip to the Bahamas. And I achieved it, netting $3,000 and earning an invitation to return for another summer as well as to recruit a team.

I share this detailed story because, as a college sophomore, I was an unlikely candidate for sales. Hailing from a small town in western Massachusetts, I was painfully shy. However, that transformative first summer selling books changed me. I went on to become the #2 producer out of 3,000+ reps in the company, recruiting top teams for six more years. Most importantly, I honed the skill of effective communication by asking meaningful and impactful questions of parents who sought to support their children's education. I even authored a book, "Families For Education," containing glowing testimonials from parents about how the books benefited their children in school. This experience taught me the value of seeking referrals and expanding my business.

Beyond communication, I learned the virtues of persistence, determination, confident closing techniques, and effective time management. These skills, along with the rainmaker mindset, are what I now impart to my clients. Reflecting on those seven years, I realize that I created something remarkable from scratch. This journey enabled me to travel extensively and, as a wonderful bonus, introduced me to my now-husband during my fifth summer. He joined my team for three subsequent summers.

That was my introduction to the sales arena, and my journey continued to flourish. Following my summer sales career, I relocated to Southern California in Los Angeles. Over the course of a couple of decades, I established myself as a top 1% performer in medical device sales. Eventually, I decided to venture out on my own. I became a certified International Coach Federation Coach and founded my sales coaching and training business, Rainmaker Mindset.

On A Personal Note

Although originally from the East Coast in Massachusetts, I made a life-changing move to Southern California with my now husband back in 1991. Opting for the beautiful backdrop of the Santa Monica Mountains, we partnered with the perfect environment to raise our two sons. As avid runners, we discovered the allure of these trails, which not only ignited our passion for running but also aligned with an excellent school system for our children.

Amidst the beauty of these trails, I've discovered my sanctuary for creativity and strategic planning for my business. With my trusty Great Dane, El Capitan, by my side, each run and hike becomes an adventure full of inspiration.

Beyond the trails, my pursuits extend to cultivating a backyard vineyard where my husband crafts exceptional Syrah and Pinot Noir. The joy of sharing our wines with family, friends, and clients is rewarding, and complements my professional journey.

I'm an avid consumer of audiobooks on sales and leadership, allowing me to gather insights while on the go. My appetite for self-improvement extends to my podcast library, where I’m a life-long learner and indulge in endless self-development content.

This fusion of passions - running, wine, continuous learning, and fostering meaningful connections, fuel my dedication to empower you on your path to sales and leadership excellence and personal growth.

There isn't a better executive coach than Carolyn. I have watched her help leaders grow their teams with ease. She was my coach for about 1.5 years when I left corporate America to grow my own business.

Carolyn helped me to focus my creativity in a way that helped me serve people better, and to serve more of them.

My business doubled during the time I worked with her.
